[Writing Practice: Stockholm house blend ]

My coffee for today is a hot long black with a Stockholm house blend. (Why do small cafes keep coming up with the stupidest cliche names for their signature blends?) which is a blend of Doi Chang medium-roasted Arabica and Brazilian beans. It has taste notes of almond and hazelnut (but I don't taste them at all), a small flowery flavor that appears out of nowhere, and a bitter taste at the end. Not very enjoyable for me. It was an unfulfilling experience. However, I wouldn't call it a 'bad coffee' since I could tolerate it.

Lately hot long black has become my preferred beverage in this winter season, aside from the obvious reason that it’s cold outside and I need to get myself warm. Coffee that is served at a warm temperature usually has such an intense aromatic flavor, and the smell is stronger and more noticeable. This, of course, depends on the brewing process and character of the coffee bean. But generally, hot coffee tastes much richer than the cold one.

I only drink hot coffee during the winter.

I dislike a hot beverage; maybe it’s an old habit I will never get rid of.

The sharp, heated liquid that enters my digestive system feels like I've been violently stabbed with a knife, and I never quite get used to it.

In the winter, hot drinks feel different. It feels more gentle, calm, and undeniably delightful.
